At Providence, our main desire is to let God speak through his word and let his word determine how we teach, serve, pray, live and love. In 2012, we're taking an approach that is new for us - we are inviting everyone to join together in readin through the Bible in one year, using a chronological reading plan. In this plan, we will read scripture in the order in which the events happened - rather than the order you will find them in your printed Bible. Why? We want to follow the storyline of the Bible in order to understand how it all fits together.
Our Bible reading will spill over into everything else we do this year. Sundays, the teaching will cover a theme or section from the week's reading. In small groups, we will dig into what we've all been reading together. Even the Student and Children's ministries will follow the plan in their own ways. This is truly a opportunity for the body of Christ at Providence to unite in a way we never have before.
So - what if it sounds a little intimidating to read through the Bible in a year? Tried before but didn't see it through? There are plenty of resources to help you stay on track, and get back on track if you get behind. New to Providence? Even if it's the middle of the year, it's easy to get on the Journey with us. Check out some of the resources available online to help you take in all of God's word this year.
